PGA champion Shaun Micheel will soon be flying high again—piloting his own plane
Home "My wife, Stephanie, our son, Dade, and I live in a 6,500-square-foot French Country-style house in Germantown, Tennessee. It's the town where I grew up."

First set of clubs "Chi Chi Rodriguez juniors."

Favorite clubs "My putter and 7-iron. People remember the 7-iron shot, but my putter won me the PGA."

I want my Wanamaker "I have the flag from the 18th at Oak Hill but not the Wanamaker trophy. The PGA of America keeps the real thing. I have an engraved replica that's one-third the size. I may buy the full-size replica because it has all the winners' names on it. But I think it costs around $30,000."

Hobby "I'm getting ready to buy my first plane, a Beech King Air 90 or 200, depending on what's for sale."

Ballmarkers "I use foreign coins. They remind me of where golf has taken me and how much effort I've put in. I've got Mexican and Chilean pesos, Indian rupees, and dollars from Singapore and Hong Kong."

The white stuff "White tees leave a mark on the club that helps me gauge my swing."

Books of the month Into the Rising Sun by Patrick K. O'Donnell. "It's a collection of stories from World War II veterans. And Flyboys by James Bradley, which is about a group of airmen shot down over Chichi Jima during World War II. My dad served in the Air Force, and I enjoy reading how our country came to be great."
