Suzy Whaley Teaching professional, mother of two, and newsmaker Suzy Whaley will play in the PGA Tour's Great Hartford Open this month, thanks to her win in the PGA Connecticut Section Championship last summer. The former University of North Carolina golfer has a long, graceful swing and superior tempo. Her steely nerves and experience playing against male pros should serve her well in the GHO.
Editor's Note: Whaley shot 75-78 to finish at 13-over-par 153. "I absolutely loved every minute of it," she said afterwards. "I enjoyed it. It was just a pleasure to be here and be a part of it."
