The 2006 GOLF MAGAZINE Dream House takes shape in Asheville, N.C.
The land has been cleared, builders have been contracted and floor plans have been drafted. This can only mean one thing--Operation GOLF MAGAZINE 2006 Dream House has begun.
This year's fantasy retreat will be built minutes from downtown Asheville, N.C. at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a luxurious golf-course community. As always, no corners will be cut and this home will be loaded with enough toys to make Bill Gates rethink his wish list.

You may remember The Cliffs' signature course (designed by Jack Nicklaus) debuted as the site of the 2005 BMW Charity Pro-Am on its opening day, but you haven't seen the beauty that lies within the 1,300 acres of this gorgeous layout. Breathtaking views come standard with all homes at The Cliffs, but the added amenities are what make our Dream House worth dreaming about.
The 5,150-square-foot house will include an outdoor summer kitchen, a limestone fireplace, hand-planed hardwood and natural-stone flooring throughout the house, granite and marble countertops, four bedrooms, a great room with vaulted ceilings and windows, and a three-car garage.
The Cliffs is the only gated planned golf community in the area around Asheville and offers residents a full golf membership for $100,000. This price includes access to all four Cliffs courses. We're spending more than $2.7 million to have the Dream Home completed by winter so check our June issue to see what our builders dream up next.
Room with a view
The back porch commands a VIP view of the first green--and everything else--thanks to the 25-foot elevation. There's even a custom-built golfer's lounge that makes a great 19th hole for your foursome.
